Rug 240111 - 215 x 102 cm
Description
A striking runner featuring bold Amazigh letters across a soft ivory wool base. Graphic and symbolic, each sign speaks to ancestral traditions woven into the fabric of Berber identity.
This rug measures 215 × 102 cm.
Made from 100% high-quality sheep wool. The dyes used are all-natural.
Hand-woven in a remote part of the Central High Atlas Mountains, within the Azilal province.
The weaver’s names are Fadma and Uda.
Moroccan Berber rugs are hand-woven crafts from nomadic tribes in the Atlas Mountains. The carpets are known for their geometric patterns in clear colors and that are hand-woven without a template. The weaver interprets events from his life in the rugs, which are usually symbols of happiness, love, and nature. The material is the finest sheep wool that, with the help of plants and berries, gets its strong colors. The natural colors white, brown, and black are wool that comes directly from the sheep found in the mountain areas.
History
Each Berber rug is entirely handmade by our partner artisans, knot by knot, thread by thread, on traditional looms. Designed from carefully selected natural wool, our rugs embody ancestral know-how, combining quality, durability, and authenticity. It is important to note that our rugs are entirely handmade, which gives them a unique personality and charm. Each piece tells a story through its slight imperfections, subtle color nuances, and artisanal character. All this distinguishes them from mass-produced products. Slight asymmetries or imperfect contours may be present, and this is precisely what makes each rug exceptional and authentic, reflecting all the know-how and passion of our artisans.

Care
Routine care
Vacuum once a week using low suction. Always without the rotating brush, and never vacuum the fringes.
Flip the rug every few weeks to let dust naturally fall out.
Rotate it from time to time for even wear.
Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods — it helps preserve the natural dyes and keep colors vibrant.
Stain tips
Blot with absorbent paper to soak up as much as possible, both on top and underneath.
Rinse with cold water only, lather with Marseille soap or a wool-safe detergent, then rinse again.
For food or drink stains, cold water and soap usually do the trick.
For tougher spots, try baking soda — and a splash of sparkling water if needed.
Avoid chemical cleaners — natural products are best for wool.
